This term all our work is linked to our topic Rio de Vida which is all about Brazil. We have already learnt about the fantastic carnivals which take place in Rio. We wrote our own poems describing what we would be able to see, hear, smell and taste if we were at a carnival. We have also found out about different Brazilian myths and created our own.

With the Olympic Games taking place in Rio, Brazil this year we thought it would be a great idea to find out all about them. We researched the games and created some great mind map posters!

During Spring Term 2 we wrote different sets of instructions and recounts. We made paper daffodils and then wrote instructions and retold the story of The Jolly Postman. We remembered to use time connectives!

During Spring Term 1 focused on a range of traditional stories. We learnt about the 3 Little Pigs and Goldilocks and the 3 Bears.

During the Autumn Term we produced a range of different non-fiction writing based around Remembrance Day, Diwali and Recycling. We also read a range of superhero stories. We read 'Super Daisy' and loved the thought of Planet Pea colliding with Earth. We also read 'Superpants' and created our own superhero pants. The pants were hung on the class washing line. They all looked FAB!

The 3 little Pigs

During our English lesson we worked in small groups to retell the story of The 3 Little Pigs. We used puppets and thought carefully about the different characters and voices. We even included a narrator. Have a look at some of our video clips.
