On Tuesday, some of our Year 5 children who are in the school choir, had a fantastic experience at Sheffield Arena, singing with 5000 other children.
We arrived just after lunch and rehearsed all afternoon with the conductor and band.
At 6.30 parents arrived and the stadium was full.
At 7pm the concert began. After the months of learning the songs and dances it was time to sing our hearts out! We all loved every minute from start to finish. The lighting, band and special guests were all amazing.
We hope you've all had a wonderful Christmas , the children have certainly come back refreshed, with energy and enthusiasm!
We would also like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you for all the lovely gifts at the end of term. Thank you very much.
It's going to be a really busy term - please find the Spring newsletter below.
Please encourage the children to read every night, learn their spellings ( using the correct unit in their spring term spelling log) and complete and return homework by the deadline. Many thanks.
As our new science topic is Space, we are hoping to arrange a visit to the award winning National Space Centre this term . Details to follow.
Welcome to the Tawny Owl's class.
Our teacher is Miss Beaumont and our school councillors are Madyson and Max (deputy).
We love to have fun in Year 5 so please check our web page frequently to see what we have been up to.
You will also find our long-term plan so that you can see what we will be up to at various points during the year.
We are really excited about a remembrance project we are going to be involved in over the next couple of months. This will also include a remembrance tree at school- make sure you look out for it!
The Daily Mile
Year 5 have begun the daily mile this year. We LOVE it. As soon as we arrive at 8.45am we are promptly registered. We then make our way to the field and walk, run or jog 4 laps of our amazing school field. We seem to be speeding up each day and are refreshed and ready to start our learning after getting our hearts pumping! Remember to check back here for updates and photographs on the daily mile's success.
