Our new topic for Spring Term 2 is Beachcombers.
We will be exploring different habitats around the coasts of the UK, discovering how animals are adapted for life in rock pools and learning how to stay safe around bodies of water.
P.E will now be on a Thursday afternoon only. The children will still have both indoor and outdoor P.E over the course of the afternoon so please ensure a COMPLETE and LABELLED P.E kit is in school ready.
This week we have been practising our Number Bonds to 20 at the strat of every lesson. Each game we have achieved a higher score. Our top score is 460 - practise at home and try to beat it!
Can you Bee-lieve it?
On Friday we were visited by Lucy and Simon who brought with them a live beehive and lots of different things to do with beekeeping. It was a fantastic afternoon and we learned lots about bees, honey and hives. We even got to hold some (don't worry parents, it was the male drone bees who don't have a stinger!). Take a look at our pictures - can you spot the Queen Bee with a red spot on her back?
We've released our butterflies! 8 Painted Lady butterflies have found a habitat around our school. Keep an eye out for them!
SATS Information Meeting
Please see the attached powerpoint for information regarding SATS.
Roll up! Roll up! The circus has come to town.
We have had a fantastic day dressing up and exploring the colourful world of the circus. We tried our hand at some circus skills - take a look at the photos. Thank you to all parents and carers who contributed by making such fantastic costumes!
What a fantastic start to our new topic! An afternoon of potion mixing, finger painting and playing with gooey Oobleck.
29.01.2018 Jack and the Beanstalk
Today the Year 2s had a fantastic time cooking and tasting beans! The children worked so well as a team and enjoyed their little D&T food project!
22.1.2018: 40 Raffle Ticket Ticket winners today!
Every time a child matches their mental Maths score they get 1 Raffle Ticket, if they beat it they get 2. Look at how well we have done today - keep up the fantastic work Badgers!
This week we have been investigating the Three Little Pigs and designing our own homes to withstand the huff and puff of the Big Bad Wolf! Check out some of the fantastic designs! We found out after testing the houses that the ones with wide, heavy bases and LOTS of tape stayed still when the hairdryer was turned on. A special thank you if you donated recycling materials!
