Bumble Bees – Y6

Welcome to the Bumblebee Class!

Welcome to our class page! We have 20 busy bees in our class and we are taught by Miss Tagliati. We have an exciting and busy year ahead of us so be sure to visit our page for more updates on what we have been up to!

The children have started our year fantastically coming in on time and keeping safe in our year 6 bubble, keep it up!

Although adults can't come into the building, please do give us a wave and smile in the morning and let me know if you need to have a chat about something, we are more than happy to give you a ring if needed.

Please remember that children need to bring a water bottle with them every day. These will be sent home each night so that they can be cleaned and refilled ready for the next day.

Autumn Term

We have made a great start to our Ancient Greek topic this term with a Greek food tasting! There were some fantastic reactions to trying these new foods and I was so proud that the children all gave things a try. Most children even found something new they would love to eat again! (maybe not the Olives though!)

PE will take place on a Monday and a Thursday, please ensure PE kit is in school every Monday and they will come home in their kits on a Thursday to be washed and bought back the next week.

FAB 4 Reading: Children have been given a reading book to read at home, they only need to bring this book back to school when it needs to be changed on either a Monday or a Thursday. Reading diaries will be checked for reads every Monday.

Homework: Children will come home with a homework pack this week that will last for this term. This does not need to be brought back into school, but we would like children to complete something from the pack each week.  If you would like to send us a message about homework or would just like to let us know how the children are getting on with it, feel free to leave a message in their diaries.

Below you can also find out long term plan for this year. We may end up making some changes as we go but this will give you a rough outline of what is to come on our year 6 adventure.

We had fun experimenting with circuits!

In PSHE we have looked at some extracts from the beautiful book by Charlie Mackesy 'The Boy, the mole, the fox and the horse'. They conveyed positive messages and a lovely way of looking at times in life that might be a bit harder. From this, we have created our own illustrations with positive messages.

In our first week back we created some fantastic self-portraits!
