We have a busy year planned, starting with a trip to London!
This WOW day will give the children an amazing opportunity and enable them to gain a closer insight
into our Autumn topic, Fallen Fields. In London we will be exploring and investigating facts about WW1,
visiting the Imperial War Museum and Buckingham Palace.
In Flanders Fields by John McCrae
In Flanders fields the poppies blow We are the Dead. Short days ago Take up our quarrel with the foe:
Between the crosses, row on row, We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, To you from failing hands we throw
That mark our place; and in the sky Loved and were loved, and now we lie, The torch; be yours to hold it high.
The larks, still bravely singing, fly In Flanders fields. If ye break faith with us who die
Scarce heard amid the guns below. We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
How to help your bumble bee to flourish!
Encourage your child to use their NEW Personal Planners
Promote Fab 4 Reading
Motivate your child in Home Learning
Support Super Spelling and Introducing New Vocabulary
Practice their Handwriting Skills
Make sure your child has their PE Kit in school every day as you never know when the
Bumble Bees will be buzzing around outside!
From Monday 9th September the bumble bees will be attending weekly swimming lessons.
Please ensure that the children come to school with an appropriate swimming kit (boys need tight fitting trunks,
no ‘surfer style’ swimming trunks and girls need one-piece swimming costumes) If your child needs goggles, please pop in and pick up a
goggle permission form. Jewellery, including earrings, is not allowed. Swimming hats should be worn if earrings cannot be taken out.
