Autumn 1
Autumn 2
Our topic this half term has been Colour and Pattern and Celebrations. We have done lots of cross curricular work surrounding the different celebrations and the seasons. We learnt about bonfire night and had our own bonfire party. We ate hot dogs, drank hot chocolate and sang camp songs by the fire. We also learnt about Diwali. We retold the story, made diva lamps and explored lots of different resources linked to this special time. Everyone was very excited to take part in our first Nativity. We all Had a different party to play in the performance. Some of us had speaking roles and everybody joined in to sing the songs. It was amazing!
Spring 1
Fairy Tales
During the first Spring half term we have been learning about fairy tales. We wrote invitations to our teddies to invite them to a Teddy Bears Picnic and walked to the post box to post them. For our tapestry challenges we have been busy writing replies to the invitations with our teddies and posting them back to school. We have looked at lots of different fairytales but focussed largely on Goldilocks and the Three Bears and The Gingerbread Man. We have made porridge and gingerbread men, acted out stories, drawn story maps and solved addition problems using the part, part, whole method and using objects. We have been so busy this half term and worked so hard.
