We have all settled into full time school well and have all been working really hard! Look at some of the great work we have been doing so far this term.
Fire and Rescue Service Visit
We had a special visit from the fire and rescue service. First, two firefighters came to talk to us all about what they do and how they rescue others. They then showed us the uniform that they have to wear to protect themselves. We learnt the Stop, Drop and Roll technique in case our clothes ever catch fire and talked about calling 999 in an ermergency. We were all fantastic at asking them questions!
Next we had the chance to go inside the fire engine. We carefully climbed up the big steps with the help of one of the firefighters. Finally we got to pretend to put out a fire in the playground. It was great fun using the hose.
Bonfire Wow Day!
On Wednesday 8th November we had a bonfire party. Firstly we watched Fireman Sam who told us all about how to stay safe watching bonfires. Miss Proctor and Miss Bailey were in charge of our fire, we watched it burn with orange flames and lots of smoke. Afterwards we ate hot dogs and drank hot chocolate. What an exciting time!

We have been learning lots of exciting things this half term. We have done lots of work about Bonfire Night and Diwali. We made firework pictures, Diva lamps, Rama and Sita Puppets and wrote super sentences. Our Mendi patterns are displayed in our classroom. We took our time to create the patterns and paid attention to detail. We also completed lots of activities linked to Autumn. We had great fun baking hedgehog bread. It was delicious!
Here are some of the things we have been up to this half term.
We took part in our Foundation and Key Stage One Nativity 'It's a Baby'. We played the innkeepers, stars and angels and were fabulous at singing and dancing in front of a large audience.
Happily Ever After
This term we are learning about fairy tales. At the end of the topic we will be having a fairy tale ball. We have written ourselves invitations and had a walk to the post box to deliver them. We have had a great time retelling our favourite tales in the puppet show. e have been practicing using different voices for the characters. To make our shows even better, we made our own puppets in the creative area.
Goldilocks and the Three Bears
We have done lots of work around this story. We made porridge to stimulate our list and instruction writing. It was tasty! We have also been doing lots of talk for writing. We are great at retelling the story with actions. We then moved on to writing story maps and writing our own recount.
