Read back through the story PowerPoint or watch the clip from yesterday. What order did the animals finish the race? Order the animals starting with 1st place and finishing with 12th place. There are some sequencing cards attached below and a recording sheet for you to draw and label the animals. Feel free to print and use the resources or simply use your own paper. 

Wednesday

Complete the 'Year of the Ox' reading comprehension below. There are 3 levels of challenge indicated by a star at the bottom of the page. Please choose the challenge that best fits your reading ability.

Thursday and Friday

• By the end of Friday, you will have produced an information booklet about the Chinese New Year.
• Spend your time on Thursday, reading the information PowerPoint about Chinese New Year.
• If you want you could also have a Google to see what other information you could find out.
• Then select three different sections to write about e.g. China, When is Chinese New Year?, Traditions, New Year's Day. On a piece of paper make some notes under each of your three headings. Remember, notes are not full sentences!
• On Friday you need to turn your notes into short paragraphs of writing. Try really hard to join your sentences using connectives such as 'and'.
• There is a booklet template below if you wish to use it. It contains a cover and three pages with space for a paragraph of writing and a picture. If you don't have a printer simply fold a piece of paper in half and draw some lines with a ruler.
