THE THREE BILLY GOATS GRUFF

All of the reading and writing activities below are linked to the story 'The 3 Billy Goats Gruff'. By the end of the week, you will have produced a story map and designed and described your own troll!

Monday

  • Watch one or all versions of the story of 'The 3 Billy Goats Gruff'.
  • Act out the story using actions just like we do in class.

TUESDAY and WEDNESDAY

  • Act out the story using actions (just like yesterday)
  • Create your own 'The 3 Billy Goats Gruff' story map
  • This time draw a picture for each part of the story and then write a couple of short sentences to retell the events (past tense) e.g. Once upon a time there were 3 billy goats who were very hungry because they had no grass to eat.
  • Use the word map for help with spellings and key characters 
  • If you have a printer feel free to use the story map templates provided, if not simply draw your on a piece of paper or retell the story to an adult

 

THURSDAY and FRIDAY

  • What does a troll look like?
  • Have a look at the different images below
  • Now get creative and design your own troll
  • Describe your troll using 'expanded noun phrases' e.g. long, curly fingernails or dark green, hairy toes
  • Record your description around the drawing of your troll
