THE CAUTIOUS CATERPILLAR

All the reading and writing activities this week are linked to the story 'The Cautious Caterpillar'. 

MONDAY

• Complete the reading comprehension activities below 
• Read the text
• The comprehension activity has 3 levels of questions as indicated by a star at the bottom of the page
• Choose the challenge level that best fits your reading ability

TUESDAY

• Watch the story of 'The Cautious Caterpillar' and then act it out using actions just like in class.

WEDNESDAY

• Act out the story using actions, just like yesterday and then create your own story map.
• You can create your own map by drawing and adding notes like we do in class or you can use the cut and stick version below 
• Use the story mat below for help with spellings and key characters. 

THURSDAY

• Retell the story of 'The Cautious Caterpillar' using your story map for support
• Remember to retell the story in the past tense
• Focus on writing the beginning and middle of the story 
• Use the success criteria sheet for support
• Try to include all the key features!

FRIDAY

• Complete the ending of the story and then check back though your work for any corrections or improvements
• Ask an adult to help you check back through your work!
