This week we are going to think about British birds. Two weeks ago, you made a bird feeder for your garden. Which birds came to feed there?

I have also included in this week’s pack some British birds for you to colour and a word search.

Time to Read or Listen

Monday 8th February

  • Look at the PowerPoint on British birds.
  • Complete the Birds in your Garden comprehension.

WALT – Answer questions about a text.

Tuesday 9th February

Look at the interactive British Bird hotspots for information on birds we might see in our gardens or Look at the overview photograph.

  • Choose one bird to write a fact file about. (picture, description, diurnal or nocturnal, habitat and diet)

Wednesday 10th February

Again, look at the interactive British Bird hotspots for information on birds we might see in our gardens or Look at the overview photograph.

  • Choose a different bird to write a fact file about. (picture, description, diurnal or nocturnal, habitat and diet)
  • WALT – Write a fact file.

Thursday 11th February

How to draw a bird.

  • Draw and colour a bird. This can be your choice of colour and design. Be as creative as you can.
  • WALT – Create our own bird.

Friday 12th February

Looking at your bird design from yesterday, today I would like you to describe your new bird in sentences. Think about

What colour is it’s beak?

What colour are it’s feathers?

What does it eat?

Is it diurnal or nocturnal?

  • WALT – Write descriptive sentences

You can write this on the lined paper if you have a paper pack or in your books (If you still have room).
