MASS, CAPACITY AND TEMPERATURE
Welcome back, Mathematicians! I hope you enjoyed your break from maths and that you are all ready to learn all about different forms of measurement. We will be doing this for the next 2 weeks so by the end, you will be able to test your new knowledge out at home! You could weigh items, check the temperature or measure out different liquids. Have fun!
Below is a poster for you to have a look at. It contains the key vocabulary that we will be using throughout the next 2 weeks.
Before you begin your daily Maths lesson
Do a big stretch! Shake your fingers and get the blood to your brain flowing. You have your fluent in 5 booklet to begin your morning. Can you check your answers and correct any mistakes? If you have completed your fluent in 5 booklet I have attached a new one for each day!
Fancy a challenge? Ask someone (a grown-up or sibling) to pick any number. Answer the following questions:
Do some counting in your 2's, 5's, 10's and 3's. Follow these links to warm your brains up:
Today, you will need to complete the elicitation task just like we do in school. REMEMBER that this should be done on your own. You won't need a grown-up to help you with this task as it doesn't matter if you don't know the answers. We haven't learnt any of this yet!
Parents - we do the elicitation tasks to see what pupils prior knowledge is before teaching a topic. We complete it at the start and end of a unit so it is a great chance to see how much they have learnt!
