Summer Term

What will we be learning in the Summer term?

Summer 1: 'Mini-beasts'
This half term, our focus is creatures and insects that live in our World! We will spend lots of time outdoors, finding mini beasts and carefully observing how they move, eat and live. We will also be caring for some caterpillars and butterflies in school - how exciting! We will be creating our own fact files in Literacy and introduce 3D shapes and their properties in Maths. We will also read lots of non-fiction texts and other stories, including 'The Hungry Caterpillar' and 'What The Ladybird Heard'.

Summer 2: 'Under the Sea'
In our final half term of Foundation 2, we will explore oceans and the creatures of the deep! We will read lots of wonderful texts written by Julia Donaldson, such as 'Sharing A Shell' and 'Tiddler'. This time of year is very exciting as we host our own Beach Day in Foundation 2 and whole school Sports Day! We will create lots of 3D artwork and later begin our transition to Year One. This is a very exciting half term!
