Walt: Understand Cubism

Children will be watching and learning about Art History today-specifically Cubism. Cubism was an innovative art movement pioneered by Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque. In Cubism, artists began to look at subjects in new ways in an effort to depict three-dimensions on a flat canvas. They would break up the subject into many different shapes and then repaint it from different angles.

Therefore, for today's lesson the children will be following an online tutorial for how to create their own art work influenced by Cubism. Get your pencils and paper ready and enjoy! I can't wait to see what you create!
