Consider what it means to be a good friend
“Why did you do all this for me?” asked Wilbur “I don’t deserve it. I’ve never done anything for you.” “You have been my friend,” Charlotte replied. “That in itself is a tremendous thing.”
This week we are going to write a story about friendship. What do you think makes a good friend?
Tuesday 9th February
Plan our friendship story
Today you are going to plan your story based on friendship. Work your way through the document attached to help you plan your story! Remember, you don't need to print it all out!
Wednesday 10th February
Write your story
Use your plan from yesterday to help you write your story. Your story should have 5 paragraphs- one for each section of your planning sheet. Don't be lazy with your paragraphs- think what you would do if you were in school! Remember the basics as well: capital letters and full stops!!! Remember, only print the document if you need to- you can just use paper or even type your story!
Thursday 11th February
Edit and improve our writing
Today you are going to edit and improve the story you wrote yesterday. As you know from school, it’s all part of the process for writers to be able to edit and improve their work so you need to keep practising doing this!
Friday 12th February
Joint English and Guided Reading!!
As today is the last day of the half term, we thought you might enjoy a little treat - to watch the film of Charlotte’s Web!
We know you still haven’t finished the book yet but you will be doing some work after half term to compare the book to the film.
The film is available on Netflix and Amazon Prime so if you have access to either of those, watch it on there.
If not, another version of the film is available (for free) on YouTube:
