Key Safeguarding Responsibilities

We maintain a whole-school safeguarding culture by ensuring:

• All staff receive annual safeguarding training.
• All new staff and volunteers receive a safeguarding induction.
• Our curriculum promotes resilience, digital safety and awareness of abuse, exploitation and neglect.
• Children know how to ask for help and are encouraged to talk openly.
• We work closely with external agencies, including Health, Social Care, Police and Family Centres, to support children and families.

Prevent Duty

We actively safeguard against radicalisation and extremism under the Prevent Duty. If you have concerns that a child or adult may be vulnerable to radicalisation:

• Contact Nottinghamshire Police Prevent Team. Telephone: 101 ext. 800 2962/2963 or email prevent@nottinghamshire.pnn.police.uk. You can speak to the team informally before making a full referral.
• If you live in Lincolnshire email ctp-em-prevent@lincs.police.uk or call 101 and ask for the Prevent Team. 

We also promote British Values and critical thinking skills through our PSHE, RSHE and RE curriculums.

Online Safety. Filtering and Monitoring

In line with KCSIE 2025, we ensure that appropriate filtering and monitoring systems are in place to protect pupils from online risks.

• Filtering limits access to harmful or inappropriate content.
• Monitoring ensures quick identification and response to online safety concerns.
• Our systems are provided by Securly.
• All data is processed in line with the Data Education Act 2018.
• The DSL team are trained to respond to alerts and incidents appropriately. 
• Children use technology every day, so we teach them how to stay safe online.

If you ever need advice on helping your child to stay safe online, please ask a member of staff.

Health & Safety and Collection Procedures

• The school complies with all Health & Safety Regulations and conducts regular site inspections.
• Use of mobile phones and personal devices is not allowed on site, without permission from a member of the senior leadership team. In concerts and plays, we ask that parents do not share content online afterwards, as some families have not given their permission for things to be shared. 
• For safety, only children in Year 5 and Year 6 may walk home unaccompanied, subject to consent being given by parents.
• Children may only be collected by an approved adult aged 16 or over. 
• Please note that Mobile phones, cameras and other electronic devices with imaging and sharing capabilities cannot be used on school grounds for safeguarding reasons unless a member of the Senior Leadership Team has given you permission.

• We recognise that parents, carers and family members may wish to record events such as school plays, sports days etc to celebrate their child’s achievements. However due to safeguarding reasons we do not allow this.

  Any objections to this policy should be addressed to the Headteachers.
