Key Safeguarding Responsibilities
We maintain a whole-school safeguarding culture by ensuring:
Prevent Duty
We actively safeguard against radicalisation and extremism under the Prevent Duty. If you have concerns that a child or adult may be vulnerable to radicalisation:
We also promote British Values and critical thinking skills through our PSHE, RSHE and RE curriculums.
Online Safety. Filtering and Monitoring
In line with KCSIE 2025, we ensure that appropriate filtering and monitoring systems are in place to protect pupils from online risks.
If you ever need advice on helping your child to stay safe online, please ask a member of staff.
Our Designated Lead for Filtering and Monitoring is Ms L Devlin.
Health & Safety and Collection Procedures
We recognise that parents, carers and family members may wish to record events such as school plays, sports days etc to celebrate their child’s achievements. However due to safeguarding reasons we do not allow this.
Any objections to this policy should be addressed to the Headteachers.
Our Promise
We want John Hunt Academy to be a place where every child feels safe, valued and able to speak up. Together, we can make sure every child in school grows, learns and flourishes in safety.
