Nursery Long Term Plan 2025-26

🌈    Why We Use Tapestry in Our Nursery

In our nursery, we use Tapestry to capture all the little moments that make early learning so special. Young children learn through play, exploration, and curiosity, and Tapestry helps us record these moments as they happen - whether it’s a first attempt at mark‑making, a new friendship, or a burst of confidence on the climbing frame.

Tapestry allows us to build a picture of each child’s development in a way that feels natural and joyful. By sharing photos, videos, and short observations, we can show families what their child has been enjoying and learning throughout the week.

It also helps us stay closely connected with parents and carers. Families can comment on posts or share their own moments from home, helping us understand each child’s interests, routines, and achievements. We also set fun weekly ‘Tapestry Tasks’ for our nursery children. These little activities encourage families to join in at home and share their child’s play, interests, and achievements with us. It’s a lovely way for us to see what the children enjoy outside nursery and helps us build an even richer picture of their learning and development. This partnership means we can support children in a way that feels consistent, nurturing, and personal.

Using Tapestry ensures that every child’s early experiences are celebrated and that their unique journey through nursery is treasured and shared.
