In our EYFS setting, we use Tapestry to capture the rich, everyday moments that show how young children learn and grow. Early childhood is full of small but significant steps, and Tapestry allows us to record these through photos, videos, and observations that reflect each child’s unique journey.
Tapestry helps us track progress across the EYFS areas of learning, supporting us in planning meaningful next steps that build on children’s interests and strengths. It gives our team a clear, holistic picture of how each child is developing, both academically and socially.
A key part of EYFS is strong partnerships with families, and Tapestry makes this connection seamless. Parents and carers can see what their child has been exploring at school and share special moments from home. We also share a weekly ‘Tapestry Challenge’ to encourage families to get involved at home. It gives us a lovely window into the children’s experiences outside nursery and helps us build an even fuller picture of their learning and interests. This two‑way communication helps us work together to support each child’s confidence, curiosity, and wellbeing.
By using Tapestry, we ensure that every child’s early learning experiences are valued, celebrated, and used to guide thoughtful, responsive teaching.
