John Hunt Academy delivers a school week of 32.5 hours per week.

Main School Sessions

8.45 am Start of the school day

10.00 to 10.15 am - morning break

11.50 to 12.50 pm Foundation lunchtime

12.00 to 1.00 pm Year 1 to Year 6 lunchtime

2.00 to 2.15 pm Foundation and KS1 break time

3.15 pm end of the school day

Weekly total is 32.5 hours 

Foundation 1 Sessions

8.30 to 11.30 am Foundation stage 1 morning session

12.30 to 3.30 pm Foundation stage 1 afternoon session

Additional Information

The school gates open at 8.40 am and the school bell rings at 8.45 am for the children to meet their teachers and go into their classrooms.  All pupils line up by the entrance to their classrooms.

Nursery pupils enter at the side of building at 8.30 am and 12.30 pm and are collected at the end of the day at the same place at 11.30 am or 3.30 pm depending on whether your child attends morning or afternoon nursery.

The school day finishes at 3.15 pm - your child can be collected from outside their classrooms.

Please can we remind parents not to let children or younger siblings play unsupervised on the outside play equipment either before or after school.

Thank you for your support by not bringing dogs on to the school premises.

Extended School Day

Wrap around care is available in the Hub from 7.30 am at the Breakfast Club and until 6.00 pm in the Hub through YMCA After School Club.
